Will post more later in small groups. So be on the look out. I really like my new Paraglider Tongue idea :D The Cryptile, Shagrat and Snowstalker are just fan art of the Discovery channels creatures. Which are still cool but not my idea.

A viscous predator!

The Eggbelly:

http://artpad.art.com/?ipxy6tsqifs

Spends its entire life creating a huge egg. When the egg is done, the youth hatches and eats the parent from inside. No mating is involved.

Heres my new picture. I have spent about 5 hours drawing this to the best of my abilities. This animal (that I do not have a name for yet) will be my main species which manages my galaxy. I have drawn version of battle armour and a purple version of the animal to show the versatility of the textures, and if possible, it would be good for it to be able to camouflage itself like a chameleon.

I would like suggestions on a name, beginning with Tri, because of the three main horns. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...I hope you like them and that it provides you with inspiration.

Heres the link (The scanner worked this time...YAY!): http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/album_photo.html?c_photo=39484641

I don't know why but macromedia flash player 8 keeps popping up an alert saying that the script could cause the movie to slow down or become unresponsive. after several clicks it finally loaded though. I think the problem with artpad is that with really complicated pics or ones that have alot of 'movements' cause it to lag or something.

pretty cool though.

Thanks Hydromancerx. I was looking through your drawings for a favorite, but they're all so good I can't decide, I'm looking forward to see your next drawings. I'm going to keep my mind open to suggestions for my creature's name, but for now it is called Trivec (Thanks Vivec). I will do a few more drawings, but I'm not sure when, could be tonight, or could be next week. Anyhoo I'll keep checking this forum for new creatures, they're all really cool.  ;)

although I have made a few artpad drawings I'm nowhere as good artistically as you guys are.

although I'll post a few anyway

a pic of a Sqw'wq'ii, a race I'm doing in the planet spore stories, I need to update this though http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?ipecvr15opjg

these two are just sketches of how the limbs are modified in a later evolution:(this is the front two obviously) http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?ipnygz1n12s0  and here is a sketch of thier walking feet: http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?ipo98ce97m8

you guys can check out the planetspore story I'm doing here if you like http://planetspore.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=58

and one of a shrimp-type thing thats in a spore-like story on the gamespot real spore union boards: http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?iptvj6heosw its of yet unnamed though.

Nothing new yet but i do have some older drawing done in 3D Studio Max of my creatures. Enjoy!

Therizinoursus

Diplomarepenna

Tricroc

Laminariacetacea
http://www.deviantart.com/view/14914768/

If you notice they are all from a common ancestor too. They all have 4 eyes (2 on each side) and have 6 limbs.

the second pair of eyes are kinda tiny so I didn't see them until I looked at the therenzoursus. Also, the Kelp whale only has 2 pairs of limbs (modified into fins), although if it evolved from a land ancestor its entirely plausible for the back pair of limbs to have atrophied or something.

They have a large eye and then small eye. The small eye is a small black dot in front of and slightly down from the main eye on all of them. I know becuse i copied the exact same parts to amke each of them. And yes the Kelp whale lost its 3rd pain like a whale.
